ResponsibleSteel hosts several in-person and online events open to members and stakeholders throughout the year. Find details on all upcoming events below as well as information on our ongoing working groups, auditor trainings and external events we are participating in.
AGM & Members Meeting
We are pleased to invite ResponsibleSteel members to our 2025 Annual General Meeting. The AGM will also be followed by a Members Meeting. The meetings will be held online via Microsoft Teams. Registration in advance is required to attend.

Just Transition Workshops
Organised by ResponsibleSteel and the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA), and supported by the ISEAL Innovations Fund, these two workshops are part of a joint project exploring the role of voluntary sustainability standards in supporting a just transition within the steel and mining sectors. These workshops offer a valuable opportunity to influence the development and implementation of just transition standards and assurance systems. The first workshop was held on May 7, 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Steel Standards Principles Interoperability Working Group
This working group, created under the auspices of the Steel Standards Principles launched at COP28, aims to enable credible interoperability between standards through the development of an actionable framework for interoperability. The Working Group is open to the 60+ signatories of the Steel Standards Principles. The first meeting was held on May 4, 2025.

These are sector-specific groups of ResponsibleSteel members that meet regularly to address the latest issues relating to ResponsibleSteel.
A forum for ResponsibleSteel to provide programmatic updates to steelmaking members, get their input on key developments, and for steelmakers to share knowledge and learnings relating to responsible steel production.

An opportunity for the finance sector and steel industry to come together to discuss how to effectively use the ResponsibleSteel Standard as a verification tool to raise capital to accelerate steel decarbonisation.

ResponsibleSteel training
Training on the ResponsibleSteel International Production Standard is open to all members. Priority is given to auditors seeking to undertake audits against the Production Standard.
If you would like to register for an upcoming training session, please email [email protected]. Please note, registration does not guarantee a place. Once registered, participants will be notified of their confirmation via email.
All auditors who conduct audits for ResponsibleSteel certification must undergo training on the Production Standard's Core criteria. This training allows auditors to certify sites to the level of Core Site Certification.
Date: 12 to 15 May 2025
Time: 09:00 to 14:00 CEST daily
Fee: USD 750 per participant
Auditors who have already undergone training on the Production Standard's core criteria can undertake training on the Progress Level criteria. This training allows auditors to perform audits for Certified Steel.
Date: 14 to 15 July 2025
Time: 09:00 to 14:00 CEST daily
Fee: USD 300 per participant
ResponsibleSteel's calibration workshops are aimed at approved Certification Bodies and auditors. These workshops aim to address issues found during ResponsibleSteel's oversight process.
